Westbank is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status based in Exminster, near Exeter. The organisation works to provide care and promote health to the local, countywide and regional community, managing programmes within the areas of wellbeing, exercise, carers services (for young and adult carers), families and the aging population.

Work which is based at the Centre focuses upon all age groups with provisions ranging from infants up to the elderly.

The Centre houses a fully equipped gym, a day centre for the elderly, a family zone for children and family activities, and a sprung gymnastics hall. With two working kitchens, there is a weekly ‘food for mood’ community cafe and a weekly lunch club.

Assisted by over 200 volunteers, staff help deliver services out in the community, ensuring people can live independently with transport services, befriending and carers groups and trips. The community can also access services at the centre such as falls prevention, cardio and pulmonary rehab.

Westbank is the lead organisation for a number of important contracts in Devon and the South West, including the South West Healthy Living Alliance’s ‘Well-Being’ consortium funded by the Big Lottery Fund, providing mental health, exercise and dietary activities through twelve partners across the South West; the Devonwide 5x30 exercise programme in partnership with a number of statutory and voluntary agencies; the Exeter and Mid Devon Walk and Talk programme; and the Devon Carers Link and Take a Break countrywide services.
